 Iolite
Iolite is a brilliant purplish-blue,
although it can appear honey yellow from the side and clear
from other angles. It is known as the gem of the Vikings because
they used the stone as a lens to navigate the seas while exploring.
Its name comes from the Greek word for violet, Ios. It is found
in India, Sri Lanka, Africa, Brazil as well as Norway and Greenland.
