Tanzanite

Tanzanite is known as the safari gem as it is found in East Africa. It is a velvety blue, but shows different colors when viewed from different directions. These colors range from bronze to purple. It is often compared to Sapphire as it shines as brilliantly blue but with a unique and subtle variation of colors.
Most Tanzanite comes from Africa. It is also thought of as the new birthstone for December.
